Hi fellas, I’m ready with my favorite quote for the second day. I hope you have already enjoyed my quote of Day 1.
I repeat the rules of the challenge and post my response after each one.
Rule 1: Thank the person who nominates you
Thank you, dear Kat of The Lily Cafe for nominating me. It is a pleasure to work on such a wonderful challenge.
Rule 2: Post one quote per day for 3 consecutive days
My last quote was based on a comic strip I love. Today’s quote is from my favorite sitcom Modern Family that occupies a BIG part in my marriage life.

Modern Family isn’t just another sitcom that steals your precious time and leaves you with a desolate mind at the end of the day. The entire package is crafted to delight every member of your family, glues the relationships better and gives you a life lesson at the end of every episode. The beauty of this series is that everyone in the family, be it a child or a middle-aged or an oldie can easily connect themselves to it. It is a show where all your emotional commotions are reflected, accepted and attended. No matter how badly broken your family is, watching an episode of Modern Family together can make things definitely better.
Phil Dunphy, aka “the cool dad” is my favorite character in the series. His wife is Claire Dunphy, who is obsessed with seeking perfection in her everyday chores. As a family of five, how they survive each other’s flaws is part of the main theme. The Dunphy-family works on the universal fact that only one of the parents can be ridiculously fun-loving and the other one inescapably bossy. Phil is naturally endowed with a soft-side for his kids, so he gives in easily. He dotes on his wife Claire, who has remarkable parenting skills that are way different from the peerenting (which is a combination of talking like a peer but acting like a parent) skills of her husband.
In an episode, Phil discloses one of his Phil’s-osophies :
” When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be all like, “Whaat?!” “
One can have a variety of explanations from their perspective for this line. This is an important motivational quote in my personal diary and acts as a headstrong driving force when I find life less-challenging. It is easy to lead a normal life, especially when you are a mom. We over-indulge in rearing the kids in a pre-defined fashion, one that other mothers have experimented for years. We do not even attempt to take a different path in parenting even if it means creating a better life for the little ones. We are fine with the ready-made lemonade that life offers us, that’s how most of us are.
In the long-run, normalcy can be extremely boring and can even be a threat to mental and physical health at times. It is necessary to assess your life then and there, have checkpoints, change directions, focus on seemingly impossible tasks and take calculated risks to achieve them.
